The Eugene Vocal Arts Ensemble will take you on a vocal tour around the world with choral music from Russia, China, Eastern Europe, Sweden, Israel, Africa, Latin America, the United States and Canada. Experience the sounds of many different cultures brought together in harmony. The concert will be enhanced by the appearance of special guests, the Eastern European Folk Orchestra Balladina and the Latin American Folk Ensemble Lo Nuestro.

In addition to the concert, there will be folk dance festivities in Studio One preceding the Saturday concert and immediately following the Sunday performance, with folk dance instructors and live music from both Balladina and Lo Nuestro.

The music for this global tour encompasses a challenging number of languages: Russian, Mandarin, Latvian, Romanian, Hebrew, Latin, Spanish, French and English, with styles ranging from fine, sophisticated choral compositions to folk song arrangements. The World of Song concerts reflect Dr. Diane Retallack's strong desire to bring together the diverse sounds of a culturally rich world in beauty and harmony.
