We begin this December with a unique holiday concert, a grand festivity combined with elements that made our English Madrigal Dinner so popular. The audience will be treated to an enchanting evening in a castle setting, with fanfare, pageantry, stunning Elizabethan dress, madrigals, motets and holiday carol singing with the audience. Then the choirs will be joined by the Oregon Mozart Players and four professional soloists for the featured grand works: Mozart's Coronation Mass, Bach's Cantata 191, Gloria in Excelsis Deo, and the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah.
Our annual Madrigal Dinner has been so welcomed and cherished that we could not bring ourselves to let it go completely. This December 2, we will hold a pre-concert "Yuletide Feast" in Studio One at 6:00 pm. Catering will be provided and served by West Bros. Catering and will feature a delectable Renaissance menu:
Wild Mushroom Pie, Wassail, Freshly Baked Bread
Fancy Field Greens with Spiced Walnuts, Red Onion, Blue Cheese Crumbles & Balsamic Vinegar
Roast Prime Rib with Creamy Horseradish
Tuscany Pasta, tossed with Sun-dried Tomatoes, Arugula, Pine Nuts, Garlic, Olive Oil and Pecorino Cheese
Roasted Red Potatoes with Rosemary and Thyme
Caramel Nut Torte
The Lords and Ladies of the Eugene Vocal Arts Ensemble will make a private appearance at the evening's Feast.
